Our Community

Where your membership makes a difference

Supporting the communities we serve
is at the core of what we do.

Service Credit Union supports more than 375 organizations annually, while also powering its own initiatives such as Stay Warm, Operation Backpack, Project Elf and more. Through supporting non-profit organizations addressing key areas, we’re committed to doing what’s right for you and the places you call home.

The Causes That Drive Us

We support our communities year-round, focusing our giving on the causes where we can make the biggest difference.

Service & Safety

First Responders
First Responders put their lives on the line to protect and defend the communities in which we live, and it’s our responsibility to have their backs.
Military Heroes
Service Credit Union was founded on Pease Air Force Base in 1957, and we’ve never stopped supporting our veterans and active-duty military.
Mental Health
A key component to overall health is mental health, and we’re committed to supporting access to mental health services in our communities.

Basic Needs & Access

Food Insecurity & Basic Needs
Supporting organizations that focus on providing food, safety, and well-being in the community.
Accessibility
All members of our community deserve equal access to the community.

Opportunity & Enrichment

STEM Education
Investing in education helps foster the next generation of community leaders.
Arts
Art enriches our lives, drives tourism, and creates empathy.
The Service Credit Union Community Team in Action
How We Decide Who To Support
Service Credit Union is proud to support hundreds of nonprofit organizations and initiatives that make a meaningful impact in the communities we serve. Our Community Relations team reviews each request to determine if the organization and its proposal aligns with Service Credit Union’s community goals.

Our giving efforts are primarily focused on event sponsorships and community partnerships, rather than general donations, capital campaigns, or marketing-only opportunities. This allows our local teams to be involved, build meaningful relationships, and create a greater community impact.

Each year, we receive a high volume of requests and work diligently to distribute our budget thoughtfully across our entire footprint, in a fair and equitable manner

Priority may be given to opportunities that demonstrate strong community impact, allow for local team engagement, align with our giving priorities, and provide meaningful sponsorship benefits. Most approved sponsorships are evaluated based on event size, location, audience reach, sponsorship benefits, and alignment with our focus areas.
