Tuesday, November 12, 2024 – Wine and Chocolate Tasting – Portsmouth, NH
Service CU is a sponsor of the 10th Annual Wine and Chocolate Tasting at Jimmy’s Jazz & Blues Club from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with proceeds benefiting The Chase Home. The Chase Home has been serving at-risk youth and families in crisis since 1877. The night will feature samples from well-known local chocolatiers, hors d’oeuvres, auctions, a fund-a-need, and more.
Friday, November 21, 2024 – Gather Thanksgiving – Portsmouth, NH
Service CU is the presenting sponsor of Gather Thanksgiving, an annual event where Gather members can pick up a free turkey and all the fixings. Held from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Planet Fitness parking lot in Portsmouth, this annual event provides families in need with a classic holiday dinner.
Saturday, November 16, 2024 – Salem Fall Fest – Salem, NH
The Salem Fall Fest is a family event at Hedgehog Park from 10:00 – 2:00 pm. The day will feature various tent vendors, a scarecrow contest and more.

Friday, November 1 – Sunday, November 3, 2024 – Holiday Bazaar – Rhine Ordnance Barracks
Service Credit Union is a sponsor of the upcoming three-day bazaar at Rhine Ordnance Barracks. The event will feature a wide range of vendors offering items such as pottery, antiques, wine, cheese, jewelry, and more. The Holiday Bazaar gives U.S. military personnel the chance to start their holiday shopping with European-based souvenirs or gifts for family and friends back home.
Saturday, November 2, 2024 – Carry Forward 5K – Ramstein
Service Credit Union is teaming up with the Wounded Warrior Project to support the upcoming Carry Forward 5K run. Service CU will sponsor the registration fees for five of its employees and will also provide refreshments for the post-run gathering.
Friday, November 22 and Saturday, November 23, 2024 – Thanks for Thanksgiving – Baumholder, Vogelweh
The USO and Service Credit Union are teaming up to assist service members and their families this Thanksgiving season by providing each family with a frozen pie and toppings, free of charge. The Baumholder event will take place on November 22 and the Vogelweh event will take place on November 23.

Children’s Museum of NH Military Appreciation Program
Service CU is proud to be the Military Appreciation Program sponsor for The Children’s Museum of New Hampshire. From now until Armed Forces Day, U.S. veterans and active military, and their families, will receive a 50% discount on admission to the museum.
During the summer months, between Armed Forces Day and Labor Day, they will receive free admission.

Free Tours of the American Independence Museum
To celebrate International Credit Union Day on October 17, Service CU members can enjoy free tours of the American Independence Museum (AIM), located in the heart of Exeter, NH. Schedule your tour with the code: ServiceCU.

Recent Events
Powderkeg Beer and Chili Festival – Exeter, NH
The Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce hosted the 13th annual Powderkeg Beer & Chili Fest, the largest beer and chili festival in New England. Service CU was proud to be the Kids’ Zone sponsor of the day, which took place at Swasey Parkway in downtown Exeter.
Riverfire – Berlin, NH
The Androscoggin Valley Chamber of Commerce’s annual RiverFire featured live music, hayrides, helicopter rides, costume parades and a zombie ATV poker run, ending with spectacular fires on the water at dusk. The gates of the Service Credit Union Heritage Park were open to activities and vendors for visitors of all ages and Service CU hosted the “Children’s Not So Scary Cinema.”
New Hampshire Pumpkin Festival – Laconia, NH
Service CU was the proud sponsor of the Kids Zone in Veterans Square at the annual New Hampshire Pumpkin Festival, home of the 30-foot pumpkin tower. The day featured everything from jack-o-lanterns to music and theater, scarecrows and corn mazes, chowder and autumn beer, hauntings and hayrides.
Retiree Appreciation Day – Ansbach, Ramstein, Stuttgart, Vilseck
Service Credit Union is honored to support retired military veterans through Retiree Appreciation Day events across Germany. Organized by the local Retiree Council, these events provide services such as informational booths, free flu shots, updates on benefits, and future planning, while also giving retirees the opportunity to connect with their peers. Service Credit Union was present at each event, offering event cakes, giveaways, and financial information specifically tailored to retirees to highlight our ongoing commitment to their well-being.
Halloween Events – Ansbach, Baumholder, Grafenwoehr, Kapaun, Kleber, Sembach, Spangdahlem, Vilseck
Each year, the U.S. military brings the American tradition of Halloween to its installations in Germany. Service Credit Union has proudly supported these events by providing staff to distribute candy and branded Halloween bags, providing financial support for Haunted Houses, supplying the event cake for which Service CU is known, and participating in Trunk or Treat—a safe alternative for children to collect candy on Halloween.
Landstuhl Fisher House – Landstuhl, Germany
Service Credit Union dedicated a day to assembling 1,000 Care Bags for guests staying at the Landstuhl Fisher House. These guests often arrive on short notice to visit loved ones undergoing treatment for injuries or illnesses, typically sustained in the line of duty. In some cases, they may be saying a final goodbye to their loved ones. The Care Bags, filled with essential items, aim to provide comfort and ease the burden of a last-minute stay. Service Credit Union staff also helped clean and maintain the grounds around the Fisher House, ensuring a welcoming environment for all visitors.
Hampton Beach Seafood Festival – Hampton, NH
Service CU was proud to sponsor the 35th Annual Hampton Beach Seafood Festival, hosted by the Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce. The weekend featured more than 50 of the Seacoast’s top restaurants, 80 craft vendors, live music and so much more. The Culinary Tent drew thousands of visitors with continuous demonstrations and programing. Sunday also featured a parade with Service CU and the Professional Firefighters of New Hampshire Pipe and Drum Band.
Baumholder Branch Remodel – Baumholder, Germany
The Baumholder Branch on Smith Barracks recently completed its branch refresh and celebrated with a grand reopening ceremony. Community members and leaders were invited to attend the ribbon-cutting event, led by members of Service CU’s overseas management team. These updates have created a brighter, more welcoming space for the Baumholder community.
Granite United Way Day of Caring – Portsmouth, Rochester, and Plymouth, NH
Service Credit Union was a sponsor of the 2024 Granite United Way Day of Caring. This partnership provided Service CU employees with the opportunity to volunteer at various volunteer activities across the state. The volunteer sites were in Portsmouth, Rochester and Plymouth.
Concord Multicultural Festival – Concord, NH
The Granite United Way hosted the Concord Multicultural Festival at Keach Park in Concord. The festival celebrated the community and showcased food vendors, performers, artists and local organizations, while offering family friendly activities throughout the day.
Branch Collection Drives
Service CU is always striving to give back to the communities we serve, and one way we support our friends and neighbors is through collection drives at our branches.
