Service Credit Union Announces Complimentary Shred Day Events

PORTSMOUTH, NH (March 26, 2026) – Service Credit Union is proud to announce its 2026 Shred Day schedule, offering members and community residents a safe and convenient way to dispose of sensitive documents and protect against identity theft. 

At each event, attendees can simply drive up to a secure, on-site shred truck and safely destroy personal documents. The complimentary service is designed to make it easy to reduce clutter while safeguarding private information. 

“Shred days are an easy but impactful way for our members and community to take control of their financial security,” said Jaime Yates, AVP of Community Development at Service Credit Union. “We remain committed to providing resources that help people protect what matters most.” 

Accepted Items include: 
Paper documents, folders, paper clips and staples 

Items not accepted include: 
Hard drives, floppy discs, CDs, binder rings, hanging file folders, electronics (cell phones, laptops), batteries, pens or hazardous materials.

2026 Shred Day Schedule: 

All events are free and open to the public. Participants are encouraged to arrive early, as events may end sooner if the shred truck reaches capacity.
