Where to Celebrate Independence Day With Service Credit Union
As an organization with strong military and local roots in the state of New Hampshire, Service Credit Union keeps a busy schedule around Independence Day. Whether you live here or are passing through for the holiday, here’s a quick list of free patriotic events we’ll be sponsoring around the state.
Gorham
The town of Gorham, New Hampshire, located in the beautiful White Mountains, has the distinction of holding the longest-running 4th of July celebration in the state, including a grand parade, carnival, and live music, and fireworks at night. Festivities begin June 30th, and cap off with a parade and fireworks on July 4th.
Service Credit Union is the 4th of July parade sponsor and we will be driving our patriotic train down Main Street at 2 p.m. This year’s theme is “Hats Off to Our Troops.”
Durham
Many New Hampshire communities offer fireworks the day before Independence Day. Service Credit Union’s UNH branch will celebrate Independence Day eve at Wildcat Stadium with a few thousand residents of Durham, Lee, Madbury, Barrington, Newmarket, and beyond on Tuesday, July 3rd. Hosted by the Rotary Club of Durham-Great Bay, the evening will include food trucks and fireworks. For reserved fireworks seats and a premium BBQ dinner in the Service Credit Union Victory Lounge, you may purchase tickets on the Rotary Club’s website at www.durhamgreatbayrotary.org.
Portsmouth
Join Service Credit Union staff and DJs from Z107 FM on July 3rd to watch the fireworks from Portsmouth’s South Mill Pond, starting at 8 p.m. Look out for our tent, where you can sign a life-sized thank you card for our military that will be displayed at military events around the state.
Keene
In Keene, the Swamp Bats baseball team will be hosting their annual Independence Eve celebration, when they face off against the Vermont Mountaineers at 6:30 pm. The game will be followed by Keene’s highly anticipated fireworks show.
Children will receive free light batons at all SCU-sponsored events. For more information on our upcoming events, make sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. And if you take any photos at the above events, please tag us! We hope everyone has a happy and safe 4th of July.
